Found this newspaper clipping on Harvey Hicks Bond. I didn't know he was a fireman and he loved going to conventions! Now I have an excuse when people shake their heads at me because I go to board game conventions - convention-going is in my blood! Ha. But seriously, I will have to look into this fireman further. Maybe they have something on him down at the hall- maybe those "50 convention badges on a plush background"? Here is to hoping!
I love how they describe HH Bond's personality here he is "as active as [a] boy" and "a general all-round good fellow." Reminds me of Papa Harvey Grimes.

This is the Western Maryland Railway station in Union Bridge, Maryland. It was a pretty big deal back in the day. Today, however, it houses the Western Maryland Railway Museum- filled with old gadgets and photos of trains, trains, and more trains! Also, since today is Saturday, it is closed. :(
However, I believe I have an ancestor that worked here. So it was really neat just walking around outside and imagining him bustling about the place. It may have been my imagination but I definitely felt a connection to the place. Electricity and excitement.. I can't fully explain it, but there is a strong connection for me here. Kris and I drove down to Union Bridge, Maryland. We went just to look around Union Bridge, look at the railroad station that my family worked in and went in search of my ancestors' graves. It had rained the day before, so the ground was wet and soggy. We went traipsing around in the mudlicious plots and were able to find several stones that I believe are ancestors...
